Mark scheme

Marking points from the official mark scheme (Oct/Nov 2022). The mark or mark type is shown in brackets.

  1. [M1] Use product rule to differentiate 4e²ˣy
  2. [A1] Obtain correct 8e²ˣy + 4e²ˣ(dy/dx)
  3. [B1] Obtain 8e²ˣy + 4e²ˣ(dy/dx) + 2y(dy/dx) = 0
  4. [M1] Substitute x=0 and y= -7 to find value of dy/dx (dependent at least one term involving dy/dx from implicit differentiation.)
  5. [A1] Obtain -28/5 (OE)
