4. • To give an outline of the type of person the business is looking for to fill a position.
5. • To make applicants aware of the skills they should have if they apply for the job.
6. • To state which skills/qualities are essential and which are merely desirable
7. • To deter unsuitable people from applying: This would give the advantage to an employer of not receiving unsuitable applications. This would save time reading applications from unqualified applicants.
