Mark scheme

Marking points from the official mark scheme (Oct/Nov 2018). The mark or mark type is shown in brackets.

  1. [M1] gf(x) = 2(4x-3)+1 / 3(4x-3)-1
  2. [A1] 8x-5 / 12x-10
  3. [B1] y(3x-1)=2x+1 or x(3y-1)=2y+1
  4. [M1] (3y-2)x = y+1 or (3x-2)y=x+1
  5. [A1] g⁻¹(x) = x+1 / 3x-2
  6. [B1] 4(2x+1 / 3x-1) - 3 [= x-1]
  7. [B1] 3x²-3x-6 oe
  8. [M1] 3(x+1)(x-2)
  9. [A1] x = 2 only
