- M1 for tan θ = sinθ/cosθ, cot θ = cosθ/sinθ and cosec θ = 1/sinθ; allow when used
- M1 dealing correctly with fractions in the numerator; allow when seen (sin²θ + cos²θ)/(sinθcosθ)
- M1 use of the appropriate identity sin²θ + cos²θ = 1; allow when seen
- A1 must be convinced it is from completely correct work (beware missing brackets)
