- M1 for multiplying by 2, e.g. 2P = 6x + ax (or a correct common denominator, e.g. P = (6x + ax)/2)
- M1 (dep) for taking x out as a common factor, e.g. 2P = x(6 + a)
- A1 for x = 2P/(6 + a) oe
